Las Lagunas de Ruidera are like an oasis in the dry landscape of Castillla de La Mancha. There are 15 lakes which cover a distance of 35km and step down over 120m from the highest to lowest lake. On the shores of Laguna del Rey - the closest lake to the small village of Ruidera - sits a small summer house in a beautiful garden of mature trees. With over 50 meters of lake frontage the property has incredible views of the lake, rolling hills and stunning sunsets.
The proposal aims to reconfigure the existing layout, cleaning the plan by placing the three bedrooms towards the back of the site with their own direct connection to the garden and a outdoor shower and organising the Kitchen, Living and Dining spaces to face the lake and the setting sun in a large open plan room. A new freestanding fireplace and kitchen island create two centre pieces in the plan and a large sliding door creates a direct connection out to a new covered terrace.
Within the garden will sit a series of objects, an outdoor shower, a outdoor cooking and dining area, and a garden shed all informally placed amongst the mature trees.
